With his dynamic blend of Afro Cuban rhythms, jazz, Latin jazz, pop, R&B and originals, bandleader, percussionist and vocalist Louie Cruz Beltran has shared the stage with legends Natalie Cole, Gladys Knight, Stevie Wonder and Smokey Robinson, among many more. At the Playboy Jazz Festival at the Hollywood Bowl Louie made a huge impact. To quote Variety “Louie was the unexpected triumph of the day. This music is why the Playboy Jazz Festival was created!”

Performingartslive.com praised Louie’s “…percolating percussion, catchy refrains and fiery arrangements….” OCWeekly said “Beltran is like a chef coaxing a multitude of flavors out of his instruments…..the only thing you can count on is that they’ll always be spicy.”

Louie’s critically acclaimed CD “Paint the Rhythm” features an all star line up of some of the most exciting and recognized names in Latin Jazz and climbed to #4 on the national charts. His sold out debut CD “It’s My Time” has just been reissued. Louie passionately advocates for arts education with a motivational percussion presentation in schools and libraries throughout Southern California. This year he once again provided the musical entertainment for the prestigious National Hispanic Media Coalition Impact Awards Gala, and recently was honored to entertain famed civil rights pioneer and Medal of Freedom recipient Dolores Huerta at her 85th birthday celebration.

Louie has performed at many music festivals throughout the West, including the Carlsbad, Long Beach, Brea and Ventura Festivals, among others. He is a popular attraction at the Levitt Pavilions in Pasadena and MacArthur Park. Louie had a guest appearance with Santana at the Gibson Universal Amphitheatre and headlined Santana’s VIP show. Louie has performed at the Mandalay Bay and Venetian Hotels in Las Vegas, the Ronald Reagan Library & Petersen Museum for Time Warner, and for Doctors Without Borders on numerous occasions. Louie performed for guests at the beautiful Las Ventanas al Pariaso Resort in Los Cabos, Mexico, and has performed three sold out New Year’s Eve Galas at the prestigious Peninsula Hotel in Beverly Hills. He has twice performed the National Anthem at Dodger Stadium, and has performed the anthem for the Los Angles Clippers and also the Anaheim Angels.
