Blues Messenger & the Freedom Band

Maybe you thought that ROCK had died…along with Jimi Hendrix, Jim Morrison and Janis Joplin. Or it was snuffed out in its prime, like Dwayne Allman, Stevie Ray Vaughn or Randy Rhoads. The roots of BLUES ROCK reach far back in America’s history and not only deeply connect to the hearts of Americans but is the
soundtrack for many of our lives. Music is an irresistible force that influences and shapes the world. In many ways Blues Rock is one of the most powerful musical
voicesin America. Some have tried to silence this People’s musical voice of the 60s and 70s and others think Blues Rock irrelevant or a thing of the past. Using labels
like “Classic Rock” in an effort to redefine Blues Rock like “Oldies” were to Baby boomers. The Blues Messenger and his Band blow those misconceptions away!
Here to wake up all the people, and bring them back to life, The Band is formed of seasoned virtuoso players at the peak of their skills. The songs pulse with the
energy and ring of yesterday’s long-gone BLUES ROCK heroes but are UTTERLY RELEVANT in these volatile modern times. Come see the show. You’ll see that
Blues Rock is not only VERY alive but that The Blues Messenger has the music in his blood and The Band proves it. Not fooled by the propaganda which spreads the
lie that true Rock & Roll has died, The Blues Messenger demonstrates why the musical voice of Rock WILL NEVER BE SILENCED!

Richie Onori – Guitars, Vocals (The Sweet, Keith Emerson) Band Leader, Show Creator. A world class musician, the list Richie has performed and recorded alongside is too long to detail here (see Richie Onori Bio). Here Richie is not supporting an act, he IS the act. Visionary KICK ASS-BLUES ROCK music that echoes Jimi Hendrix and Stevie Ray Vaughn, and is showcased with flawless musicianship by a highly professional and seasoned entertainer. The Blues Messenger leaves the audience blown away and ROCKIN.

Larry “Fuzzy” Knight – Bass (Spirit, Delaney & Bonnie) When you’ve played or toured with legendary blues artists Albert King, Little Milton, Chuck Berry, Albert Collins and Ike Turner there is little doubt about your R&B “pedigree.” Larry was born into the St Louis jazz and R&B scene and played along-side those Icons and countless other artists, like Jefferson Airplane’s Peter Kaukenon, who shaped the world of music as we know it today. As always, Fuzzy delivers his signature pulsing, deeply blues-rooted bass in The Blues Messenger band.

Jon Greathouse – Keyboards (Albert Lee Band) Aside from his early and ongoing live performances with legendary guitarist Albert Lee, Jon has played on or produced 21 albums, scored music for 19 feature films, appears on 900 tracks in 97 TV series, written music for 90 commercials and provided scores for corporate films, internet
websites, video games, movie trailers, live stage productions, and instructional DVDs. His artistic creativity is not just prolific, it’s embedded in our culture. Jon brings his talents and breadth of musical experience to The Blues Messenger band.

Claudio Pesavento – Keys (Mahogany Rush, Chris Squire) Claudio has played and jammed with Rick Wakeman, Chick Corea, Keith Emerson, Tony Smith, Fernando
Saunders and Jeff Beck. So, when he says, “Playing live is everything! All these screaming fans! I cherish those days more than anything because the bands I played in
like Mahogany Rush and many others really kicked butt live! Sharing stages with Aerosmith, AC/DC and Queen, you cannot repeat those days!” Yet in every performance, he does.

Paul Cassarino – Drummer (Norwood Fisher, Fishbone) An award-winning drummer who has recorded and played with Ike Turner, guitarist Paul Warren, blues guitar
legend Guitar Shorty, Ronnie Hudson and opened for both Pancho Sanchez and Tower Of Power. Part Native-American, Paul recorded “In The Spirit” with the
Native-American project Great Mystery, earning him a NAMMY (the Native Community’s Grammy). Paul just finished an album with Lenise Bent (Steely Dan,
Supertramp, Fleetwood Mac) and plays drums and percussion in the funk band Trulio Disgracias with bassist Norwood Fisher (Fishbone) and saxophonist Scotty Page (Pink Floyd, Supertramp, Toto) And he ROCKS The Blues Messenger Band every bit as ably.

CONCERT TO SUPPORT WHITE BUFFALO TRAGEDY ANNOUNCED

Blues Messenger & The Freedom Band plus Grammy Award Winning Micki Free (The Micki Free  Trinity) and Special Guest Performers to Headline a SPECIAL CONCERT to Support White Bison Tragedy.

LOS ANGELES, CA. Richie Onori, drummer and co-manager of the influential 80’s Glam Rock band “The Sweet,” guitar wielding front man for his group “Blues Messenger & the Freedom Band” and Officially Appointed Ambassador for The White Bison Association announced today that a special concert in support of the White Bison Association will be held at The Canyon Club – Agoura Hills on May 16th. Doors open at 6pm. Guest Performers will entertain from 6:30pm til 8pm when Headliner Show starts.

Onori, a long-term advocate and supporter of human rights causes and vocal antagonist against human rights abuses, has acted as an Ambassador for the White Bison Association for several years since the 2016 release and staging of his musical theatrical “Freedom – Rock Prophecy” which heralds a 2000- year-old Native American ‘White Buffalo Prophecy’ that predicts a window of opportunity when all mankind will have the chance to unify and reconcile differences and conflicts of the past.

In a recent press interview Onori stated, “We must take immediate action since devastating fires and floods have killed a portion of this most Sacred herd. It has become a dire and urgent situation that demands our help to support these sentient beings.”

Benefit concerts, fueled by “First People” supporters and other humanitarian groups are being rapidly organized in an effort to save the White Buffalo herd and assist those who care for and keep it but Onori is staging a unique concert to raise awareness of both the cause and the spiritual and “for world peace” aspect of the 2000 year old Native American White Buffalo Prophecy.

“Richie has a history of supporting causes that at first glance appear to be “on the outskirts of major media and societal interest,” said a source wishing to remain anonymous, “But those causes have all ended up being central issues that a lot of people really care about!”

Onori has supported numerous controversial high-level social issue actors and causes. He performed with prominent vocalist Robbie Wyckoff in support of Robert Kennedy Jr. speaking out at the Atlanta Truth Transparency & Freedom Rally in October 2016. He staged his “Freedom – Rock Prophecy” musical theatre at the famous Saban Theatre in Beverly Hills in October 2016 in support of Arts 4 Peace Awards and has performed at and supported numerous other “cause-related” events.

Onori’s Blues Messenger & The Freedom Band and The Micki Free Trinity will be joined by noted  performers Debby Holiday, MItch Perry, Jon Greathouse (Albert Lee Band) and other high-profile American and international musicians and public figures (TBA) who feel strongly that worsening societal issues must be brought under control and artists uniting to spread truth for the greater good is vital.

When asked to comment, Onori stated, “We are at a crossroads in our mutually shared journey. It is time for the people of America to come together and hold hands. We need to act before it is too late.”

Editor’s Note: “The White Buffalo is a sacred symbol to the indigenous First Nation peoples across North America and now the world.”
