Special guest appearances by film producer Denny Tedesco (The Wrecking Crew Movie); Singers: Lamont Dozier, Jr., Marty Ross, Gary Stockdale, Kiki Ebsen, and more. The Wrecking Crew was a loose collective of “go to” Los Angeles based session musicians who played on literally thousands of studio recordings in the 1960s & early 1970s, including several hundred Top 40 hits by legendary artists as diverse as Jan & Dean, the Grass Roots, Simon & Garfunkel, The Beach Boys, Sonny & Cher, Nancy Sinatra, the Partridge Family, David Cassidy, the Carpenters, John Denver, Nat King Cole, and of course, Glen Campbell. They worked with dozens of top producers including Lou Adler, Mike Post, and Brian Wilson of the Beach Boys, who also co-wrote many of their most famous tracks, and used the Wrecking Crew's talents extensively in the mid-1960s on songs such as "Help Me, Rhonda", "California Girls", "Good Vibrations," and several album projects including Pet Sounds (1966), and the original sessions for Smile. Glen Campbell became a touring member of The Beach Boys from December 1964 to March 1965, filling in for Brian Wilson, playing bass, and singing falsetto harmonies. He played guitar on the Beach Boys' album Pet Sounds, among other recordings. In 1968, Campbell released "Wichita Lineman", a song written by the great songwriter Jimmy Webb. It was recorded with backing from members of the Wrecking Crew and appeared on his 1968 album of the same name. It reached No. 3 on the U.S. pop charts and remained in the Top 100 for 15 weeks. The song also topped the American country music chart for 2 weeks and the adult contemporary chart for 6 weeks. In 1975, Glen Campbell released his thirtieth album, Rhinestone Cowboy, and the song by the same name became Campbell's largest-selling single (and one of his best-known recordings). "Rhinestone Cowboy" continues to be used in TV shows & films, including Desperate Housewives, Daddy Day Care, and High School High, and was the inspiration for the 1984 Dolly Parton/Sylvester Stallone movie Rhinestone. Campbell won numerous music awards including Grammys for “By the Time I Get to Phoenix” and “I’m Not Gonna Miss You”, nominations for “Wichita Lineman” and “Rhinestone Cowboy”, American Music Awards, and Country Music Awards. Glen’s musical career was second to none. In June 2011, Glen Campbell announced the devastating news that he was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease. In 2014 Campbell was featured in the documentary I'LL BE ME which examined Alzheimer's and its effect on his musical performances during his final tour across the US with his wife & family. Campbell died on August 8, 2017 at age 81 in Nashville, TN. His legacy lives on through the incredible music he left us. David Garfield has had the same mission statement since moving from his hometown of St. Louis to Los Angeles as a teenager in the early 70s: “I make music.” Fully living up to this vision and in more expansive ways over the past few decades, the multi-talented keyboardist and musical Renaissance Man has established himself an eclectic force in popular music. At any given point during his career—and often at the same time—he has been a renowned songwriter, producer, bandleader (of Los Angeles based contemporary world jazz collective Karizma), arranger, recording artist, record label owner (Creatchy Records), session and touring musician, musical director and composer of various commissioned themes for global organizations. Reflecting on his extraordinary, diverse career, the Los Angeles based Garfield says, “It’s creatively invigorating to have the opportunity to do so many interesting musical projects, to see so many amazing places throughout the world, and to work with some of the greatest musicians both in L.A. and overseas. I feel as though I am always learning from the artists and musicians I work with, not simply on a musical level, but also benefiting from their wealth of stories and life and career experiences. There are always unexpected thrills along the way, from opening with his band for Sergio Mendez or Jason Mraz to recording in a studio next to Paul McCartney or Alice in Chains and having the opportunity to meet and get to know them. I love being involved in so many different aspects of music and the feeling that I truly never know what’s coming up next.” Featuring Gregg Bissonette (drums) |

Music Night at Bogies | The Delgado Brothers ($30 VIP/$20 GA)Music Night at Bogies | The Delgado Brothers ($30 VIP/$20 GA) THURSDAY | February 7, 2019 | 7:30PM | Music Night at Bogies | The Delgado Brothers ($30 VIP/$20 GA) BUY TICKETS HERE: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/the-delgado-brothers-tickets-53526251459
The Delgado Brothers are back at Bogies, and it's Brother Stevie's Birthday. Come on down to celebrate. It's going to be a lot of fun. Their latest release, “Two Trains” will be available at the show. Driven by fierce independence, unified by family, and fortified by the brotherhood of music, the Delgado Brothers deliver the musical goods; topical anthem-worthy songs complemented by call-to-action lyrics, and East L.A. Soul. For over 30 years the Delgado Brothers have been music makers, collaborators and ordinary citizens; raising children, grieving the loss of parents, The Delgado Brothers have longtime been referred to as Los Angeles’ best kept secret. So just who are these quintessential musicians? The Delgado Brothers are eldest brother Bob Delgado on bass, middle brother Joey D on guitar and vocals, younger brother Steve on drums and vocals, and David “B” Kelley on Hammond B3. Each member of the band brings a unique style of musicianship to the Delgado Brothers brand. Indiana- bred David B. Kelley came West in search of “groove and diversity”. An incredibly gifted musician, David’s playing on his “Vintage 1972 Hammond B3” adds tone, texture and depth to the sound and songs. To witness a Delgado Brothers’ live performance is to testify to the synergy, emotion, work ethic and true musicianship of the band. Their 4th CD, Learn to Fly, released in 2009 is testament to the band’s long evolution and scope of musical diversity. Raising a variety of real world concerns from the topical, ‘I Wanna Know (what the fighting's about)’, to the meaningful and Tug on the Delgado Brothers musical roots and you’ll find big brother Bob’s bass-playing days tied into the East Los Angeles band, Thee Exotics circa 1960’s. Yet another brother, Eddie played with Thee Ambertones during the same period. Creating a perfect musical environment, for younger brothers Steve and Joey only to aspire to. For years the Delgado Brothers band played venues, clubs and special events throughout Los Angeles and the San Gabriel Valley. In 1987 after being sighted at the in-famous “L.A. Street Scene”, they released their first album on the Hightone Records, with Dennis Walker and Bruce Bromberg, the same producers responsible for Robert Cray’s hit-making success. |

Reviews: Eric McFadden “Encompassing three decades of recording and performing live, McFadden has created his own original style…Pain By Numbers represents an artist exposing his own vulnerability with unmatched expression, style, delivery, and above all, originality…While delivering the goods with the same energy as the Clash and the Ramones, Eric McFadden’s Blues seek its own musical footprint on Pain By Numbers.” (IndiePulse Music 2018) “If San Francisco is home to anyone approaching the abilities of a modern Hendrix, it’s Eric McFadden.” (Jimmy Leslie / Guitar Player Magazine 2009) “…I found myself struck mightily by the big soul inside Eric McFadden. His singing and playing are as good as it gets, full of power and awe inspiring expertise…” (Dennis Cook / Jambase) “…McFadden is a six string virtuoso. His command of so many genres- is accentuated with meticulously crafted songs. There’s the poppy twist on traditional psychadelia. Poetic yet sinisterly distorted punk. Rowdy rockabilly. Dark, foreboding grunge. His melodies hinge on seriously catchy choruses that resonate thanks to a crunchy baritone reminiscent of Tom Waits or the late Mark Sandman of Morphine…” (The Denver Post, December 2009 concert review) “The Eric McFadden Trio’s Joy of Suffering gets my vote as the best and most original guitar recording of the year so far.” (Jimmy Leslie / Guitar Player Magazine) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2woNYs7aCUg https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f6UnH1xq66o https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WXh70HGSU8g instagram@eric_mcfadden |

'Snuffy' Walden on guitar. The music has a pop jazz feel with bluesy overtones. Niemietz is a revelation, trading lines with Smith’s voice and Walden’s guitar. She is a classy veteran performer who electrifies an audience. Walden’s soaring guitar work demonstrates his virtuosity and reminds us that before he wrote music for Thirtysomething, The Wonder Years, The West Wing and Friday Night Lights, he was an accomplished session guitarist backing artists like Stevie Wonder, the late Donna Summer, and Chaka Khan. |

Strawberry Alarm Clock, who’s been also categorized as acid rock, psychedelic pop and sunshine pop,[5] charted five songs including two Top 40 hits. The current line-up includes five original members: Mark Stephen Weitz, Randy Seol, George Bunnell, Gene Gunnels, and Steve Bartek, plus guitarist Howie Anderson (member since 1987!). (Original guitarist Ed King, who who passed away August 22, 2018, joined in with the rest of the band earlier in 2018 to do a new recording of Incense and Peppermints which will be included on SAC’s upcoming EP.) Strawberry Alarm Clock, or "SAC", evolved from a band called "Thee Sixpence" in 1967 which included drummer Gene Gunnels, keyboardist Mark Weitz, late guitarist, Ed King and late vocalist and guitarist, Lee Freeman. Vocalist and vibraphonist - Drummer Randy Seol came aboard during the sessions for their #1 hit “Incense and Peppermints”. Shortly thereafter George Bunnell was brought in as a songwriter and bass player. His songwriting partner Steve Bartek was also asked to join the band but had to decline as he was only 15 years old and couldn’t get parental approval. He did however play flute on the Incense and Peppermints album. Steve is now a successful film scorer and orchestrater for Danny Elfman. Gene left the group after the I & P session at the behest of his then girlfriend only to return in 1969 for their fourth album, Good Morning Starshine. Currently SAC is Celebrating its 50th anniversary while working on an album of all new material. SAC is as relevant now as they were in the summer of love. |
